I am Yuka Koreeda
Hello, I’m Yuka. I was born in Tokyo, Japan and our family moved to Canada when I was 14. In my hometown, I spent time outdoors exploring nature, counting butterflies and watching frogs grow. I loved the smell of dirt, the cold tingling sensation of the grass, and the bird songs that brightened my day. If I’m not busy outside, you will find me talking to my pets, reading about animals or plugging away at the piano, trying to master the beautiful sound of Bach. Things have not changed much; except I am now a mother of two spirited children and a pet parent who lives in Oakville.
I have trained as a pianist and shared a love of music for many years. Through my own wellness journey, I discovered how Reiki and aromatherapy have improved my health and outlook on life. It was only natural that I extended my knowledge to help and support animals including my own dog Mirabel. True to her breed, Mirabel is attentive, alert and sensitive to the environment. Reiki has helped her to calm her busy mind, and release the tension in her body.
My Story
Holistic Wellness is not just a service or treatment. It is a lifestyle.
We are what we eat. It is important to exercise. Work hard and permit yourself to rest. Get outside and connect with nature. We all do our best to keep up with our busy lives and balance what is important. But sometimes, we need a little guidance, and we are here to help you navigate your journey. Alongside doctors, veterinarians and medical care, I believe the multi-modal approach assists us in all levels of being; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. A true holistic lifestyle will enrich our lives as we know our mind, body and soul all work as one.

A Better Spot Foundation rescues dogs from Yulin Festival, danger kill zones and relocating them to safe and loving homes.
At A Better Spot Foundation, when we rescue, we do it with care and with the goal of not letting our dogs down, ever. All of the dogs we bring for adoption are evaluated to assure they are not highly reactive or aggressive. If we pull a dog from the meat market who is deemed to be aggressive, we work with trainers in the country of origin to ensure the dog is adoptable before flying the dog to Canada.
We thank you for following our rescue stories and supporting our dogs and mission. There are No Borders when it comes to Love and Friendship... both of which are Timeless and Worth Saving!
