Back to Work-Separation Anxiety
Separation anxiety is discussed often by dog owners, especially now as pandemic pups are awaiting to enter the real world of… well, simply people not being home. Some of us (me) didn’t even go out grocery shopping! According to a new study, 70% of dogs have anxiety.
How to keep it cool in the summer
Many things seem like “common sense” when it comes to keeping yourself and your dog cool during the summer. But dogs are very different in the way they manage hot weather as they do not sweat to cool down as we do. TICKS… prevention beyond medication
TICKS. Everyone is talking about TICKS.
Does it seem like there are more of them this year?
YES! Ticks are everywhere, even the dogs who only go on sidewalk walks are getting ticks. The monthly tick/flea medication is great and only works if ticks bite your fur baby but it does not deter them from coming onto their fur and into our homes, sofa and bed! Oh yuk! It is safe to say that we should do everything we can to protect our dogs from these awful pests.
Benefits of Canine/Pet Massage
Let’s talk about the benefits of massaging your dog. We think of massage as a form of relaxation but there is so much more! For dogs, canine massage has similar benefits. It can be used at home for relaxation and stress relief, to help dogs with anxiety or nervous disorders, to provide relief for arthritis, and to aid in the healing of muscles, joints and bones.
DIY Paw Sanitizer with essential oil every pet owner needs
DIY Paw Sanitizer with essential oil every pet owner needs!
I know many sanitizers use alcohol for the DIY recipe and it is super effective in getting rid of germs. But having a son who has sensitive skin, I opt out for Witch Hazel (without alcohol) as alcohol dries out the skin quicker. Adding aloe vera juice and vitamin E oil keeps our hands nice and moist as well!
Is Reiki Right for Your and your Pet?
Hands-On Reiki for animals does not necessarily mean laying on of the hands, but it does mean being in the presence of the animal. Some animals don’t like to be touched or have people they don’t know invade their personal space. Reiki can be beamed to the animal, the animal can enter into the Reiki Space the practitioner has made available and at some point, the animal may show the area that they would like the practitioner’s hands to be placed upon.
Things to do with your dog when it’s -30° outside
Well, it’s really any scenario... whether be 40 ° outside, pouring rain or in lockdown. These are just a few ideas you can try indoors with your pets.
