Things to do with your dog when it’s -30° outside

Well, it’s really any scenario... whether be 40 ° outside, pouring rain or in lockdown. These are just a few ideas you can try indoors!

⭕️ PULLER- is a fitness tool that was developed by a professional cynologist! It is a set of special purple rings and with its designed workouts, it engages muscles that regular walks won’t. The main activities are fetching and tug but 20 minutes of PULLER exercise is equal to 5 miles of running! You can easily train jumping and tugging at home on the non-slippery surfaces or do 20 mins in the backyard to really tire out your active pup!

🐕Work on the trick title

There are lots of places where you can get your trick title online! It’s a fun way to work indoors and bond with your dog.

🧐Learning words-this can be incorporated with your training, like learning “place” or “crate”. You can also go further and learn the name of the toys, or learn the names of the family! Once they know basic words such as “ball”, you can also move onto concept learning.  For example, small (ball), medium and large. Some cool ideas (in Japanese) @kapilina.dcs

💪 Canine fitness-this is another great way to work indoor to improve proprioception (awareness of body movements), build healthy muscle tones and flexibility! We have been taking a fitness course from Lisa @lpcaninefitness she has been amazing!!

🐽Nosework-I’m always tempted to buy state of the art professional equipment... agility, fitness, nosework... but really, you can be creative! Paper cup, toilet paper roll etc! I like to use the beautiful sniff mat my sister made for me and also Easter eggs for putting treats or scent. You can ask your dog to find specific “scent” that could be peanut butter or chicken.  You can really be creative and have fun with your dog!
